Do you have some bread going stale that you are about to chuck in the bin? Think twice and prepare some golden brown bread croutons instead, they will take your delicious soup or salad to a complete new level! Feel free to make as many as you can in one hit since they can be stored in the freezer for another occasion and dried out 3 minutes in the oven before using again.

  • Yields: -

4 - Slices of classic white loaf (fresh or some days old)

AR - Olive oil (0.4ยบ)

Trim the crusts and cut the bread into dice of about 1.5cm of side

Add enough oil into a small frying pan to cover the bread pieces.

When the oil is very hot fry the dices until they turn light golden brown, taking care not to burn them.

Take the croutons out of the oil with a skimmer and transfer into a paper towel-lined dish for at least 10 minutes, to dry off the oil excess.
